Web Site by John Byers (over 1500 HTML files and 3000 images). Site started in February 1996 while I was at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). In January 2002, I moved to the USA and the site was hosted by the USDA-ARS until March 2006 when it was moved to a private domain: www.chemical-ecology.net
Since the website was first developed in 1996, many things have changed in web browsers, for example, JavaScript which is supposed to be backward compatible does not work in all web pages as it used to, while some things still work. All the Java Applets no longer work because all the web browsers discontinued support by about 2016. You can run them from an XP computer with an older version of Internet Explorer. I was going to port them to HTML 5 Canvas but only did about one or two and then lost interest. Another way is to download the Java application (findsex and speed) which work if you have installed Java runtime (which still works in Windows 10). Since I'm retired I should be able to upgrade but instead I'm working on Java applications for scientific papers. I may go over the non-working anymore JavaScript pages to get them working but it might be too difficult. Sorry but it is the browsers and hackers fault. - John Byers 2021.
